Update:
On the Benedict XVI Encyclical Series
Hello all,
Just a quick update. I am sorry for taking so long to deliver this message after the poll I put out to you all. It has been a rough couple of weeks for my family. As I mentioned on Facebook and Instagram, we sadly lost a baby at 13 weeks. I would be grateful if you would pray for my family during this time.
As we move forward with Will Wright Catholic, I am very pleased to say that I will be doing a series on the encyclical letters of Pope Benedict XVI, may he rest in peace. You all seemed interested, based on the poll and comments, and I am happy to be reviewing them again. To do these fantastic letters justice, it will take me some time to read them again, take notes, and put together a worthwhile presentation on them. So, here is what I have decided:
I will be doing three individual episodes, which will be dispersed over the next few months. I intend to stagger them, so there will be additional episodes in between. I like to keep the topics varied to keep things interesting and I know that everyone has different specific interests; so, I want to honor that. Also, I have decided that I will not be doing an episode of Caritas in Veritate (2009), at this time (maybe later!). It is a fantastic encyclical, but it is a 40th Anniversary celebration and summary of an encyclical from Pope St. Paul VI and is a social encyclical rather than a theological treatise. So, for now, we will be sticking to the three theological encyclicals on the three theological virtues: Charity, Hope, and Faith.
I cannot wait to research these and present them to you. They are absolutely phenomenal! Also, be on the lookout for an episode on how we can break down and judge moral acts, an episode on the Catholic understanding of the relationship of Church and State, and other great topics!
In Christ,
Will
Thank you Will. I am looking forward to learning about the 3 encyclicals.
I am praying for your family daily. May God fill you with strength and endurance and peace.
Gail
May God bless you and your family with hope and strength, Will. You all are in our prayers.
